Katie + Luke’s downtown Denver wedding at the Four Seasons :: Denver wedding photography

Katie + Luke. They are the type of people you want to hang out with, be friends with. We were lucky enough to hang out with them on their wedding day. Their wedding by far was the most I have laughed on a wedding day. Everything took place at the Four Seasons Denver, which is an amazing place for a wedding. The ceilings in the ballroom are beyond beautiful and make a gorgeous backdrop for photos. We LOVE it there!

A week or so before the wedding Katie asked me what I needed from the guys before I met them to photograph them getting ready. I just said make sure everyone has their pants on. And that is how the guys in boxers photos came to be. haha This was after they all piled on the bed and broke it, but shhhh…that never happened Then, we went and they danced with the aliens by the performing art complex while the girls took photos by the Clocktower.

Instead of a unity candle or a sand ceremony, Katie and Luke came up with a beer carrier where they combined their homestate’s beers. Wisconsin on one side, Colorado on the other. So awesome.

Luke’s best man and little brother was the star of the reception. Before he approached the mic he dug out an ipod from his pocket and took it to the DJ. Already everyone is wondering what is going to happen. He starts his speech and mentions that Katie had requested that he sing at their wedding and that he has never sung in front of anyone or has no idea how to sing Italian. Con te Partiro starts to play and he belts out the song. Everyone, including Kimothy and I, were laughing so hard we were crying. Ahhhmazing.

This wedding makes me pretty excited to see what this year has in store. Summer can’t come soon enough! (and stop snowing already!). Katie and Luke, hope Wisconsin is treating you well! xo

Rikki + Aaron = Engaged! :: Denver Engagement Photography

We were in Ohio for 2 weddings in 2 weekends. Ohio in fall is gorgeous, perfect timing to do an engagement session. These were taken a week before Rikki and Aaron’s wedding.

Elizabeth + Grant = Married!! :: Denver Wedding Photography

The details of Elizabeth and Grant’s wedding were so cute – personalized hipster sunglasses, scrabble pieces labeling, well, everything at the reception, burlap aisle runner, baby’s breath bouquets for the bridesmaids, and a rubix cube groom’s cake.

The day from my POV (tess)

shots, beer, this youtube video, sassy photo posing tips from the groomsmen, quiet moments between the madness, so much laughter, happy tears, I might have seen a butt and taken a photo of said butt, awesome dancing, cigars, some yummy cake, and a pretty sunset over the mountains. All in all, it was a good day.

Beth + Jeremy = Married! In the mountains! :: Denver Wedding Photography

The girls wore cowboy boots, the bride had teal ones. The boys wore teal shoes and fun ties with fish, little ice creams, & surf boards. The groom wore a bow tie with puppy dogs. (Side note, if you’re planning on wearing a bow tie, practice before the wedding. Or at least have an ipad and 4 other groomsmen to help figure it out). The details of this wedding were awesome.

Beth + Jeremy were married in the Colorado mountains this summer. Sweetwater, CO to be exact, at a camp where Beth used to work. It wasn’t just a wedding, it was an event. There was horseback riding, skeet shooting, pool time, and lawn games. The flowers were amazing, the setting was perfect, the tears flowed, a handmade broach bouquet, DJ Rockstar Aaron – all of that combined made us very happy wedding photographers.

Heather + Dustin = Engaged! :: Denver engagement photography

Are you ready for a cute little couple in the big city/Boulder foothills? A little Dirty Dancing lift (or Crazy Stupid Love)? Or a recreation of the famous The Kiss? Google it. We did.

This couple is amazing. We could hang out with them all day. Oh wait, we did. This engagement session started off at Little Man Ice Cream by our studio, then off to Boulder for some foothills as our backdrop and back to Denver to recreate the kiss (see below). Although it was so cold we still had a lot of fun. We’re so sad that they are moving back to the midwest.

Heather + Dustin brought along their adorable little Yorkie, Bugsy. He was so tiny and cold and in the way that I shoved him in my jacket and shot the engagement session with his help. Thanks to Kimothy for Instagramming it.

Anyways, now onto Heather and Dustin’s engagement photos….

St. Patty’s Day Mini sessions! :: Denver children’s photographer

That’s right! Clovers, pots of gold and your little leprechaun. We had so many parents asking if there would be a St. Patty’s themed mini session this year. We didn’t plan on it but we were asked so many time that we decided to go forward with it! I’ve already started the 4 leaf clover making and letters that spell out lucky. In case you missed the Valentine’s day themed mini sessions click here.

Since it’s so specialized and unplanned there will be only 8 slots. Children 3 months and up are welcome! Read below for more info.

Anyone who knows me knows that I love this time of year. Only because there are hearts everywhere. I love hearts. And love. And today is all about love. I love to celebrate love. Hearts, love, candy (especially chocolate), cards, flowers. What is not to love about today? It’s girly, it’s sweet, it’s a reminder to our loved ones how much we adore them. So please don’t forget to let them know that you are thinking about them.

I decided to celebrate the little loves in your life. Handmade hearts, feather wings, and babies dressed as cupid…it was so cute!!! I was so excited to have these sessions (our first of our mini sessions this year) and they were a success!

I got some new studio lights and my pup, Boomer, happened to come to work with me that day. He was the perfect little dog model…
